| Yankee Update My friend just called and she brought Yankee home this morning. He is on 2 different antibiotics and pain meds but they haven't given her a clear diagnosis. He did have a small poop when she got him home. They said his blood work came back all OK. She is to start small amounts of boiled chicken and rice later today and see what happens. They said his heart sounded good but they are not cardiologists. I feel so helpless and feel so bad that I can't be there to help out.

Not blaming the vets, just hate the situation.
I'm sorry you can't be with your friend in her time of need. Sometimes life just sucks and you just can only do what you can do...just do your best to lend her an ear and a shoulder. That support will go a long way towards helping her.
Best wishes to you, her and Yankee. |

| Maybe it's just a stomach virus that will run its course? I remember a couple of years ago, Porter had a day or two of vomiting and diarrhea...it was awful. It got to the point that he had blood in both, and I was scared to death. The vet gave him Flagyl and Reglan, and he was right as rain in no time. I hope that Yankee's problem is that easy. |

| Spoke with my friend this afternoon and he seems to holding his own and keeping small amounts of food down. She had him for just a short walk and no poop today as yet. I am so hoping it is just some sort of strange virus and will run its course. She has a huge corn field in back of her home that he runs in so you never know what he might have picked up or what people might throw there. She is vigilent about watching her Dobes but you know how quick they are at picking things up they shouldn't.

| Wonder what she has been feeding Yankee? Maybe a raw diet from like Natures Variety or other company would be in order. You might mention it as they are so much easier to digest. |

She was feeding Blue Buffalo and changed back to Pro Plan a few months ago which they had been on before changing to Blue.

| How's Yankee doing today? Have you heard anything new?
There's the dehydrated food, Honest Kitchen, too...just add water. Both are expensive, but so much better than just kibble. |

| Yankee Back in Surgery Yankee took a turn for the worse yesterday. He is not pooping again so she took him back this morning. They did more x-rays and feel some sort of mass is blocking him. Don't understand why they didn't find it the first time but I am not a vet and was not there. Hoping and praying they find something they can remove and fix him. I am so very upset and cannot stop crying for him. I hate this! Please, please send more prayers for our Yankee.
This was one of the last pictures I took of him in the fall when we visited for a playdate:
