Hi all, my doberman seems to have just a couple small bumps on the top of her nose. Nothing big, as if it could be a bite or pimple type. She also seems to have excessive amount (to me at least) of eye discharge/boogers. They seem to have a slight greenish/yellowish tinge to them. Any ideas? Thinking of taking her to the vet this weekend.
I work at a vet ophtho clinic and had one of the doctors look at M's eyes as he has the same thing. She said not to worry too much about it; mostly just allergens, dust, etc. I use some polysporin eye drops if it is really bad for a couple days and it clears right up. If your dog is squinting persistently, or if the white of the eye is really red or the cornea looks hazy or not clear, then he should be looked at immediately.
Skye has them every morning when she wakes up. Goes to Dad to get them wiped out, it's their bonding thing, she doesn't like me to do it. I do everything else with her, it's a Dad thing for her! Past Dobes have had them, especially if they have deep set eyes. When I had more than 1 Dobe, the female took care of that for us Mothering thing I guess. As far as the bumps, not sure.
