| My JAYDA!!! Her back is flaring in bumps! I don't know what to do or know what it is. I mean, I know what to do , take her to the vet, but over this past weekend its gotten real bad. I just looked at her a few minutes ago and the sun was hitting her at a certain angle and WOW i didn't even know she had bumps on her thighs too now.
About 1 month and a half close to two months ago she got her rabies shot and about a week later she had like a bad irritation in the area she received her shot. I talked to my sister who's a vet tech and she told me to take her back to the vet and its probably a reaction. I took her, he gave her a shot and within a week in a half it got better and went away. But that's when I got Bronson, who had a very mild case of staph. I ask the vet who cropped his ears about treating it just in case it flares up again? He said no, not now let his immune system kick in.
I did a little more research about staph infection and found that it IS contagious. I didn't assume it was because my main source was this website and i didn't recall anyone saying it was contagious. So the past two weeks Jayda has little bump on her coat. I can barely feel them on her skin. But her skin does feel dry. It was just in a small area near the back of her back. So I ordered Micro Tek shampoo and gave them both a bath, which is suppose to be good for a variety of things, on Friday. Today, Its bad.
Im going to set her up an appointment but does any know what this could be? She's a 7 year old black and rust doberman with no past skin or coat issues? Although I do know as dogs age, just like puppies, their immune system isn't as strong either.

| Whenever a skin condition arises, my first few tests is a T4 and a skin scraping. The only way to figure this out is to work with your vet. It could be anything from thyroid issues, to contact dermatitis.

| We just got a black and rust 9 week old puppy who has bumps on his head, neck, belly and back. Our vet did a skin scrape and found demodectic mange. She wasn't going to do a skin scrape but I asked to have it done. I'm very happy we did. Now were are on an appropriate course of treatment! |

Would a skin scraping be required at that age. I have a 14wk blue and rust with great skin so far but ever since i got him jayda's back has been flaring up. The day i posted this her back looked HORRIBLE, now, even though i havent done anything, her skin is fine now, no bumps, just a few that havent went down yet. Confusing? But im still taking her to the vet just in case. |

| Lol, no. Too bad, just playing. He said it looks like some type of bacterial infecting her skin but its not staph. He gave me some antibiotics. Hopes it works! |

| I did. Its amazing 5 minutes cost me $103. SMH. He looked at her skin, popped one of the bumps and said she has some type of bacterial infection. She on atibiotics for two weeks and hopefully it clears up. If not then he said well run some test. Sunday she had like 300 small bumps i could see throughout her coat but not really feel. Today she may only have 15-20 without taking any meds. I still wanted to take her to the vet to make sure and im glad i did. AnD she was very bad at the vet office , barking at every dog , fur standing up and she's not even dog aggressive. She only barks at dogs when I have her on a leash. |
