| Lucan has lost his manhood... Well, it was chop chop time for poor Mr. L. on Thursday. It certainly hasn't slowed him down any that's for sure. "Try to keep him quiet for the next few days........" - yeah right. He hasn't even looked at his incision, no licking, etc. I don't think he's noticed anything missing yet
His scrotum is still quite swollen - how long does this last? |

His scrotum is still quite swollen - how long does this last? | If you don't keep him pretty quiet for a few days--we recommend leash walking for elimination only for five days--and limited exercise, also on leash for at least another five--it could take longer than you are prepared for.
I was the one who admitted as an urgent, a dog who had been neutered on a Wednesday who came back to us on Friday with enough fluid in his scrotum to make it look like he was carrying around a pair of soft balls. The man (whose wife and picked him up and clearly hadn't listened to the discharge instructions) thought on Thursday morning that he'd give him a big treat and take him for a nice run at the local dog park. BIG mistake.
Crates were invented for confining energetic puppies who have recent surgeries and need to be kept quiet.
Swelling of the now empty scrotum varies greatly from dog to dog but if you keep him confined and limit exercise and he doesn't spend any time licking at the incisions the swelling should be pretty much gone and the incisions healed in 10 days to 2 weeks. |

LOL, my husband is out of town for 6 weeks. He said when I did it, he didnt want to know about it...........so.............he wont know. I can give Rom enough love and kisses and attention for both of us And of course, him and Piper are attached at the hip. So Im sure she will shower him with affection.
