Demodex

Is demodex, or mange, transferable from a one dog to another? Like a pup to my dog, not mom to pups. I just want to double check with you guys in case I do a foster with it. I was told no, that is can be transferable from mom to pups but only with direct contact if she has it. Other then that stress can be a factor but otherwise a healthy dog cant get it, nor can cats as it is a different kind of mite that cats would get.

Thanks in advance for letting me pick your brains again.

ALL dogs (and people, too) have demodex mites on them. They only become a problem on an individual dog when the immune system is compromised. So Strike or any other dogs in your home already HAVE demodex mites-bringing a foster in isn't going to add any additional risk.

Sarcoptic mange, on the other hand, is extremely contagious from dog to dog or dog to person.
