| Extra nipple Ok, so I'm playing around with my little guy (Howie) and I'm rolling him around on his back. At this point, my boyfriend starts laughing. When I asked him why he was laughing, he told me my dog is a mutant. I asked why and he pointed out that Howie has an extra nipple. He was right! He has four nipples on one side and five on the other! I know this isn't normal, but could it be harmful? He's going to the vet tomorrow for shots. I can't wait to show this to the vet, but I wanted to hear your thoughts too. |

| So does Wonder. Sometimes females will too. Take a deep breath and love him for being unique!

I see you went ahead with multiple male Dobes...just a heads up be thinking about what you are going to do at your young one's maturity (or maybe before depending upon your current male) if they don't tolerate each other. You might already know this, but just in case: http://www.kinetic-unity.com/males.html

| He doesn't have an extra. He's short one. Still doesn't matter. |

| The way nipples are spaced out on animals makes sense. They feed their young mostly laying down on their side, so alternating nipples makes it easier for the young to feed. Males have nipples, too. And I would think it is normal for nipples to fall in this pattern on them too. We had a post a while back regarding how many nipples each of our dogs had......I think Rudi has 9 (I'll have to molest him again to get an accurate count. LOL) and they are in an alternating pattern.

| I can just see Mr. Rudi now, "Mooooooom! Why do you need to look at those things again!? Oh, well, I guess a good belly rub and a nap on the bed makes it more than worth it." *chuckles*
EDIT: Wonder has 10 in perfect rows and evenly spaced. Too bad he'll never use them. :-p
