Doberman Elbows

In a previous thread I talked about Buddy loosing hair on his elbows I think it may be due to the chew resistant material his beds are made of. Does anyone know how I can correct the loss of hair on his elbows I'm putting a soft blanket on his crate bed. Not much I can do about the outside bed but he is not outside that much.
