Thanks,EDC | Try this article out to get some thoughts on food allergies: http://www.peteducation.com/article....&articleid=143
I looked through it, and it seems dogs are often allergic to eggs as well. Maybe it's not just beef? |

| has anything changed? Different treats, etc..... Before changing the food, I would make sure that nothing else changed. Although, I will say that sometimes the ingredients in the kibble changes and it could be that also.
If you need to switch kibbles, you might try California Natural Chix and rice. It has very few ingredients and is recommended for allergy prone dogs. If your dog has protein allergies, you might have to try a few different ones. Fromm has some good kibbles with alternate proteins such as Buffalo.

| | Alpha | I've had good luck with Natural balance fish or duck and Wellness fish / duck / and I think they have a venison... Also consider a food without grains. I second the egg- have read problems with that. Corn and wheat are huge common ones. Good luck!

| I've tried several times over the last couple of years to feed Rex eggs and they just don't agree with him. Too bad as they are very good for them.
My dobe prior to Rex got them every other day with no problems, so it just depends on the dog. Probiotics might help. Best of luck.

| Raw fed dogs are very rarely ever allergic to any sort of raw meat. It's when the meat is made into kibble that the problems start. If you can't find a kibble that works, you could try Raw or home cooked. Petey was a mess until I started him on Raw, I obsessed over his bowels for months, and tried everything, vet visits, different high quality kibbles, pumpkin puree, kaopectate, antibiotics, diarrhea always came back with in days, started out with a bit of home cooked, it was too much work, so I....made the switch and with in days....all problems were gone. I haven't looked back once.

Thanks,EDC | One good food for dogs with food allergies is Solid Gold Hund - N - Flocken. http://www.solidgoldhealth.com/produ...?id=1&code=100
It's main ingredient is lamb. I have actually gotten because the food we usually get, Wolf King, was out. I have been very happy with the Solid Gold line of foods.

| Sometimes the formula for kibble changes. Sometimes and allergy that did not exist before starts up.
I would stop the egg first.
If diahrea is involved take a sample in to the vet.
You may also want to try a bland diet--boiled meat, rice (if you don`t suspect an allergy to the rice) if not sweet potato is usually good. Also adding 1-2 tbs canned pumkin.(not pumpkin pie variety)
If this helps you can slowly add the kibble back. If the problem comes back--its probably the kibble and or the egg.
If the simple remedy doesn`t work a trip to the vet is your next best thing. |
