| Drago goes over the bridge. My dearest Drago went over the rainbow bridge Sunday (04/24/11) at the young age of 5 years and 7 months. He was a Canadian Champion, Canine Good Citizen, had successfully completed his DPCA Working Aptitude Certificate, and had earned 7-AKC championship before his retirement last year due to congenital chronic active hepatitis with copper toxicosis and cirrhosis.
He was a wonderful canine singer (as seen in the photo). He especially loved singing the "I love You" portion of the song, Nights in White Satin. From this day forward you (Drago) will be known as Canadian Champion Dragonheart's Mighty Dragon, CGC, WAC. You will be dearly missed, loved forever, and never forgotten.
Drago's memorial thread will be posted shortly. Please look for it under the Rainbow Bridge.
Thank you all for your support, Tracy and Mariah.

| Drago suffers no more. He was a brave dog who fought the good fight for his life as long as he could.
I am sorry Tracy. |

| Tracy,
Thank you for sharing. The thread was inspirational, moving and VERY informative. It gives us something to think about and perhaps prepare to go through ourselves. On prep for her spay our 10 mos old Jetta's blood panel came back with extremely high ALP levels (around 600). Our vet is very concerned and we are about to embark on additional tests to confirm any potential conditions.
We are very sorry to hear about Drago, he sounded magnificent. Our condolences.

Rob and Farah | I hope things are going well for Jetta. Thank you for the lovely words about Drago. I miss him dearly but my new boy, Victor, is helping to feel the void. Luckily Victor doesn't seem to mind if I slip up and call him Drago once and awhile.
Take care, Tracy, Mariah, and Victor

Rob and Farah | Be careful about going down the biopsy route too fast. The liver is the septic system of body and if there is an infection anywhere, the liver will take a beating. A lot of Vets will recommend a broad spectrum antibiotic to try to fix any infections that it might take a lot of testing to find. I know that Quincy (Dobermansrule) has been managed that way twice in the last 3 years and each time it has helped - there is no chronic liver disease going on.
