If not treated the pimples will burst bleed and be a nasty mess |

| Also use metal bowl to feed him in--sometimes the plastic ones can harbor germs. You can also make an effort to wipe his chin after he eats to get rid of any food particles, and wash it gently with a mild antiseptic or soap made for washing inflamed skin. I used to use peroxide years ago, but it is not recommended now for anything other than the initial wound cleansing because it damages tissue.

| My first Dobe had acne. I'd wipe his mouth off after he ate and that helped quite a bit. Eventually he started wiping his own mouth off afterward, on us, on the couch, o fun fun
Good luck. |

| That chin looks pretty bad. I would recommend a trip to the vet for the proper antibiotics to clear it up. Also, you will have to be very faithful about cleaning the chin after every meal or it will just be an on-going problem. The food sits in the folds of the chin tissue and causes infection unless you clean the chin after every meal. I use a very mild solution of GSE (grapefruit seed extract) and water to clean chins after every meal and have not had the problem come back. Many Doberman chins have lots of folds that catch the food particles so good hygiene (chin cleaning) and washing bowls after every meal is something you will have to live with. Once it's a habit it is not a big deal.
