Um....well, I could go into the science of the matter--the importance of maintaining the proper temperature for sperm viability, but.......

In short words...cold shrivels, hot hangs loose.

I would ask your vet for their opinion. Being in bad pain is not normal - and no matter how cold it got, my Male dogs testicles did not ever look like that - he was not neutered till he was 7 - and we live in PA.

Sorry that your boy is having issues. Just for your info: Urinary issues (bladder e.g.) rarely impact the reproductive problems(testicles e.g.). There are common situations where the two overlap. Prostate problems immediately come to mind.

I am fairly sure that nobody was making light of your boy's issue until it went away. (very quickly, I might add).

IMO, you should have mentioned the the obvious pain that you observed in your initial post.

See your your boy's vet... soon. That would have been my first call.

took him to the vet twice and they simply state its the healing process, they spoke to a specialist at cambridge who said it could take months for the bladder to heal.

i just relooked at his balls and theyre smooth but have lines crackling where it's now peeling, i'm pretty sure actually it's because hes been leaking urine constantly as well and been laying in it, this would cause an irritation to the skin right?

Your questions drove me to the internet for research--apparently a dog’s scrotal skin can suffer from Contact Dermatitis--"Itching and skin irritation at site of contact with chemical, detergent, paint, dye, etc. Usually affects the feet and hairless parts of the body.” Then you get cracked, reddened and itchy skin and lots of licking. Maybe that is what is going on now? Sure seems that constant dribbling of urine could be an irritant.

But I think the severe pain you report would be due to something else. What did your vet say about that--were they saying the pain was basically a part of the healing process?

Something else I learned in my research--a dog’s scrotal skin can actually get sunburned if he lies upside down in the sun a lot. Makes sense, I guess, but who’d have thunk it?
