| Lady is hurt and i am frustrated Welll i havent been on here in awhile been a really busy year. Well as i stated in some pretty old posts Lady hurt herself awhile back ( partial tear to i think what is the dogs acl) we got her x-rayed and at the time the vet said she didnt need surgury yet but eventually she may have to have it.( well I had just started a new job so we decided not to do it at that time. Well as of next week i am being layed off and to add to that lady is limpin alot more. and i barely have enough money to pay the morgage I have been intensly looking for another Job to take the place of theone I have . I am hoping that i get the money i put in retirement from my old Police job soon also because i know i could cover her surgury and bills with that. I just feel real crappy right now and helpless please pray for my job situation and for lady. my Doxie thank goodness is in excelent health and so is my wife. thanks alot for your support |

| Sorry for your frustration and good luck to you. Know that it takes a very very long time to heal from ACL injuries. I don't know if you're keeping Lady on a leash, but I would highly recommend leash walking only - no loose time outside at all - none. It would take months to recover and just when you think she's better, she could re-injure herself. There are therapies that have proven effective, stem cell injections, but I understand that the cost is prohibitive, so may not be an option. However, the leash walking only would definitely help.

| Stemcell injections? Ligament injuries are injuries to the connective tissue, I suspect that stem cells will be used first to correct living tissue. I am also highly skeptical that stemcells have been proven effective for anything clinical, I realize that veterinary medicine can move more quickly because of the relatively lax safety standards but if it were being used successfully on animals I would think they wouldn't be saying that clinical trials are still 4-5 years off in people.
There are frauds and charlatans today and for the last few years who have been offering stemcell cures for high dollar amounts, for humans, but as foreshadowed they do not perform.
Subjective symptoms can be changed by the placebo effect. |
