Hi guys- I have a ?. My 5 month old has been having diarrhea off and on. Took to vet with stool sample. Everything is good, vet stated teething and some dogs get diarrhea cause they are stressed. I gave her some pumpkin for am and pm feeding but she has pooped like 15x today very loose. She has lots of safe stuff to chew on. Noticed now on her bed some blood cause she was chewing on the sheet. Any suggestions? My hubby looked in her mouth and actually a molar feel out!!!! I have a puppy tooth:) lots more are really loose

Give it a few weeks.. Teething is a bitch for some pups. If she is having loose stools, I would avoid, bully sticks, pigs ears, and rawhide chews for the time being.

As long as your vet has given her a fairly thorough "once over", personally, I would not be overly concerned. Stick with an organic pumpkin puree additive and maybe start a home cooked bland diet like chicken and rice.

If it doesn't clear up in a few days, then back to the vet for another stool analysis,

We were never able to add pumpkin to Max's diet for the same reason you mentioned: it gave him TERRIBLE diarrhea. We tried organic pumpkin 3 times and never had good luck with it.

However, Max has done great with carrots. Not only does he go crazy for them, but they help produce healthy stools. We usually freeze them but when he was teething really bad, we didn't freeze them, thinking it might hurt him even more. We also like to cut them up and put them in his wishbone toy (toy for treats that he has to work out).

Maybe try some organic cut up carrots inside a chew toy to give your pup something to chew on/help with loose stools?
