Positive thoughts for Jordan

I would appreciate it if everyone would keep Jordan in their thoughts right now. Wednesday I found a hard nodule in a mammary gland. I had her into the vet Friday morning and she feels it is very suspicious for a malignancy...in mammary tumors the odds are about 50-50. My regular vet was out of the office and so when he returns to the office next week we'll discuss when he wants to do surgery (excision of the nodule/mammary gland and spay). Jordan was just recently in heat and so spaying her now would be a bit more challenging for the vet, but we won't delay surgery if the nodule increases in size.

Thanks for keeping Jordan in your thoughts.

Jan

Oh no, Jan!!!! Lots and lots of well wishes to Jordan. I hope its either not serious or, if it is, that it can be taken care of easily and entirely.

Update on Jordan

A little update on Jordan: Since she is vWD Affected, albeit not clinically affected and has never shown any evidence of prolonged bleeding, she is considered "at risk" and so tomorrow she will be having a buccal bleeding time test. If it is under 5, then we will be scheduling surgery at the end of May. If her bleeding time is prolonged, then my vets will probably refer me to WSU for her surgery. I really hate waiting as I want to get the lump removed ASAP, but since she was just in heat they want to make sure her uterus has returned to its normal size, and at age 7 don't want to put her through 2 separate procedures. Thankfully, the lump has not gotten any larger so that is one positive note!

Thanks to everyone for your positive thoughts & prayers!

Here's a recent pic of my baby girl just chillin'!

Thanks, Jan & Jordan

Jordan's buccal mucosal bleeding time test was well within the normal range. At 1-1/2 minutes it began clotting and by 2-1/2 minutes there was complete clotting. She is scheduled for surgery on May 26th. It seems so long to wait but I do understand the vet's reasons for this. They measured the lump again today and there has been no change in size or character of the lump which is good. They'll be checking it again in 10 days or anytime I feel like bringing her in to have it measured. So, now we wait which will be most difficult.
