This is a touchy subject with alot of people. and so many theories, its funny too because its really the first domestic dog food we gave to our dogs, kibble is only 80 years old and seems to have connections with growing obesity and ailments. A problem can occur when a raw feeder is a 'newb' and can miss out vital trace minerals and acids etc. For me, buying honest kitchen and mixing it with (almost expired on sale) hamburger meat as well as adding solidgold seameal has alowwed me to control portions without worrying on missing nutrients. Untitled Document is a great product, there is quality grain, grain-free, gluten free, and meat free diet which you add your own raw meats. You can also add no raw meat or add it on special occasion because some formulas contain gently dehydrated meat which still keeps the protein and amino acids in form for your dog to absorb maximum nutrition rather than high temp. cooked kibble. Dogs in some euro countries see 17,18 years old, they eat high quality meats with a fat and carb base (potato,trimmings,veggies,and some fruit) dogs in north america are lucky to see 12. I switch from this diet to wellness CORE every month to maximize palitability, keep the dogs interested at dinner time, and able to keep a stable weight. So far...so good!!!!!

Feuerhund....have Doberman's really seen that many years???? WOW! Sadly I don't think it's anyone in my Petey's lines. I will be beyond happy if I get 12 years with my baby. I'm trying my best to stay mentally prepared for less. I can't believe he will be 2 in another month. I am doing everything in my power to give him a good happy fun life every day, I feed him a healthy raw diet, I don't over vaccinate him, and he gets tons of fresh air and exercise.

I used the word 'dogs' in the lifespan statement, surely smaller breeds see longer life, but a dobermann to live 12-14 is seen higher in europe than in north america. I was enhancing the benefit of feeding high quality foods easy to digest which is not a common practice here due to the billions spent on consumers buying poor quality commercial diets. Most westerners do not practice holistic medicines and diet as well as vaccine amounts given. this is where the lower mortality average is given in text. Any dog with great long life genetics to start benefit more. Just as us humans do, I hope your dobe sees 12-14. why not?

He has a double Alfa line breeding on his Dams side....not a good thing according to many Euro breeders. I agree with feeding healthy food...I put a lot of time and effort in to Petey's meal planning. I love feeding raw, and Petey does too!
