Is Shellfish Okay for Dogs?

I made a seafood pasta tonight and gave some shrimp, scallops, and salmon to Rainah for a treat. She has had salmon before so I'm not worried about that, but after she ate the scallops/shrimp my boyfriend questioned if it was okay to feed dogs shellfish and now has me paranoid.... thoughts? Please tell me its okay... I only gave her 2 shrimp and 2 scallops.....

I don't see a problem, especially for the amount you gave her.

LOL i'm sorry but I burst out laughing at "bratty bitch". I know bitch is a female dog, but at first reading I couldn't help but laugh at the wording of your response!

Now in response to the question asked, I think it should be ok. I gave my mastiff in the past a couple of shrimp before and he was fine.

Thanks everyone for easing my mind.... I didn't think there would be a problem, but just got paranoid and thought the worst... LOL... Rainah gobbled down the fish and is now sleeping with her full belly.... she is fine...

Funny thing is my bf said "why dont you just call the vet?"

Our vet IS closed but I was like "oh don't worry... DT will let me know" hehehe

Stormy had prawns dipped in garlic butter for his Birthday. He really liked them, especially fed by hand while he layed in HIS chair. He and Pearl beg for oysters off the Barbi, they both like just a drop of hot sauce on theirs too. Yes, shellfish are OK for dogs. When on the beach Pearl loves to eat barnicles off the rocks and logs.

I dropped a smoked oyster on the kitchen floor a few weeks ago and I let Thakoon have it. He loved it. And now everytime I open a tin, he's right there, thinking he just gets one.
