| owie... yep, been there. First time I started biking Quincy, we went on pavement a little too much and he got raw spots like that. Took like 2 weeks to completely heal. Just clean them. Put on some neosporin. Put socks on her feet. And take it easy. |

| Yup - We've been through it a few times with Chi - someone here called it a slipped pad. I just make sure it stays clean and don't wrap it unless she's really licking and chewing...

| Don't beat yourself up, this happened to our Dax once or twice. The concrete pavements around our pool is sort of rough and she liked to run around it while we were in the pool until I noticed she was getting sore pads. Also happened when my girlfriend was pet sitting for us when we were on vacation. We were on our way home and called to check in and my friend was so upset because Dax was acting funny and sort of limping. Told her to look at her pads and that's what it was. I did the same things. Soaking in Epison Salts is good and an antibiotic ointment and put socks on. Lois |

| Been there too. It usually takes 2 weeks to heal completely. When it does, try using "Musher's Secret" on the pads (it's generally used for sled dogs as a barrier for ice).. it was recommended to me and seems to work pretty well.

| Athena gets that once in a while, when she plays too long on hard surfaces. We were given Ploysporin, basically an antibiotic ointment. I was told to clean it daily with warm water and put the ointment on morning and night. I give her a long-lasting treat right after I apply the ointment so she leaves it alone for a while.

| | Alpha | A strong solution of black tea patted on a few times a day will also toughen pads. |

| Yep, we get it regularly too. Use a gentle antiseptic and make sure she doesn't lick it. In England you can get Shaw's Paw Wax from Pet Supplies, Aquariums and Pond Supplies, Dog Food & Pet Food Online (or .co.uk? can't remember), or from Pets at Home I believe. I put it on Zac's paws before every outing and we haven't had a cut paw pad since. |
