Can someone identify this?

It's gotten bigger over the last couple of days. We noticed it when we picked him up, but it was much smaller. If someone can't tell me exactly what it is, he's off to the vet.

It doesn't seem to bother him unless you touch it. He doesn't like it being touched. I don't know if it just annoys him or if it pains him. He doesn't yelp or anything, just kinda pushes you away.

I would take him to the vets anyway just to be on the safe side!! they should just be able to do a fine needle biopsy, my dobes have always fatty lumps when they got older but i do think all lumps should be investigated..
good luck, Abbie

My guess would be fatty lipoma or cyst. Either way, don't take my word, take the vets word.

It would be impossible to tell w/ any certainty from a picture. Recommend a trip to the vet for a needle biopsy so they can look under the microscope and see what it is.

It could be a number of things - abscess, lipoma, sebaceous cyst, vaccine reaction, or even a cancerous tumor.

Good luck at the vet!

Did he have vaccines recently? Worth a trip to the vet to get it checked out.

I agree with going to the vet but my father's Dobe had just a fatty cyst but we took her anyway.

Def a vet trip.. but zeus had a lump just that looked just like that. it was near his hip, we think he bumped himself and fluid gathered. the vet drained it but he still has a small bump there to this day, but he is fine.

hope the vet visit goes well.. keep us updated !!

Always wise to go to the vet. It may be just a fatty tissue however piece of mind is well worth the trip.

Vet trip.

And now you're gonna have to let us know what it is, which is the price for all these DT opinions!
