| Blaze Is Still Not Right... Part of her saga lasting a week now can be found here.
We had her to the vet again yesterday because it was starting to look to be a "right front" favoring issue and she's favored that shoulder from time to time after making an amazing leap for her floppy disc. That wasn't the case when this all surfaced, but it does make one think...
Her vet saw her again yesterday as she was still not acting "normal." We have seen a serious indication of wanting to "favor" the right front leg/shoulder, yet he was unable to get her to react in manipulation -- and as we all ready know, the X-rays show nothing. He instructed us to pull her off the Rimadyl as it was apparently masking symptoms he really needed to see and to call him with status this morning.
She seemed comfortable up until 1 AM when she woke me pacing and panting. She refused to lay down and when she did, she whined in pain. Hubby is calling the vet when they open and we are going to get her in again today. I am so heartbroken that it's taking this long to determine what's going on with her.
Anyone else have any other ideas? Thoughts?

| I am very sorry Blaze is going through this. I know how frustrating it is when you don't know what is wrong or what you can do to make it better. I am going through something similar with Trinity but not as severe. I pray your vet figures out what's wrong soon. ~hugs~

| I had to leave Blaze again. Her vet indicated he sees a completely different dog now that she's off the Rimadyl again.
More X-rays with focus on neck again and front shoulders.
No news but we are to check back at 11 AM.

| Sorry to hear that it is not just a 'simple' injury. it does sound more and more like a cervical problem. Give Blaze a big hug for me, poor girl. Sounds like you could use a hug too DobeMomToo. Not knowing IS worrysome, lets hope your Vet can diagnose the problem so that they can figure out how best to treat her. |

| I just called to see if that would be a reasonable approach to test for Lyme or Rocky Mountain Fever given we have property in the Sierra Foothills.
She and Ember are on both Heartguard and FrontLine, so....
But they know I'm wondering in that direction now too...

| Her vet just called and said I can go pick her up. He has given her Ketoprofen and she is up and walking around like nothing is wrong. He has reviewed the x-rays taken earlier this week and still sees nothing to indicate any skeletal issues -- as well as sees no other signs that would point him in the direction of Wobblers.
Relative to Lymes or Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever -- she is running no fever, and because she is on both Heartguard and Frontline, he is not prone to suspect Lymes etc. In addition, our property is fenced and there are few opportunities
He wants feedback again tomorrow, and has put her on EXTREME activity restriction and wants Rimadyl started back up again. He wants her restricted through the weekend with feedback provided again on Tuesday.
I'll get ahold of Hubby and see who can go get her first. Still no answers, but at least she's not in severe pain any longer.

I'm just wondering -- our vet sends out xrays to a radiologist to be read - I mean she makes her own interpretation as well, but every xray I pay a radiologist fee as well for this second opinion I guess is what it is... is your vet having the xrays verified by a radiologist? sometimes they see things the regular vet does not. just a thought. |
