| very few on his back, they look just like zits or ingrown hairs in people.. hes got fewer than 8 total sparcely located on his middle back to butt.he only itches when hes touched. not when hes left alone. hes not digging or biting. just seems very itchy when petted.
his skin appeard dry but not scaley.not much dander. its normal color/texure other than dryish. with thinner coat and very few zitty things''
the dry is kind of like when you have dry skin and you scratch your nail on it and it turns white where you scratch. or as colored folks say ''ashy''. nothing derogatory meant for those who are coloured,by the way.

| Definitely have the vet look at the bumps when you go in. Indy had similar type bumps when he had his bout of mange. Not saying that's what it is, but like I said, at least have the vet look at them.

| Mensa was like that for what seemed like forever, and I tried most of the things you are trying, but nothing worked.
I even thought it may have been because of a lack of avocados in her diet; her problems seemed to start right about the time The Great Freeze Of '07 wiped out our crop. So I bought her avocados, from the store, just so she would have a couple each day.
Nothing helped until I took her to see these people: Animal Dermatology Clinic
They did an alergy test on her and worked up an antigen for her. Now I give her an injection every two weeks and she's doing much better.
Good luck! |

| i think it may be food related. i just remembered we switched dog kibble, and hes very food sensitive.they were out of his usual dog dry kibble. its been about a week of itching and we switched it about 2 weeks ago.
i am still running the thyroid panel, will switch back to the other dog food, and ask the vets what he thinks.
its not really looking like the mange as i looked it up/compaired photos, but i will ask the vet to do a scrape to make certain,if he thinks thats what it is.

| Sounds like alopecia. My blue suffered from low thyroid and alopecia but once we got him on meds and a routine, he had a very nice coat. I took him to a veterinary skin specialist and this is what she told me to do. First, have his thyroid checked through MSU. I did and his was very low so he was started on soloxin which he took his entire life. Get some baby wipes with aloe and wipe him down with a new one a couple times a day. Do not bathe him, that really dries out the skin. If I had to bathe, I used a special oatmeal shampoo. Do not pick the pimples, just wash them with the aloe wipe and put neo sporin on them. She recommened I give my boy 3mg of melatonin each night. He also took this for his entire life too. Re-evaluate what you are feeding. I changed my boy to raw and he did very well. I also cut out wheat. I am not a vet but hope this helps.

| it ended up being the Glycoflex joint supplements from the vets. we stopped it and within a couple days his rash and itchies went away.the bumps were obviously hives.
