Hi, I don't know of any in your area specifically (I'm in Canada) but when you do find some check them out for deductible, lifetime limits and most importantly check to make sure they cover hereditary diseases and issues. Some don't and then if something comes up that's related to a breed specific problem you can get s-c-r-e-w-e-d.

From what I have read, you are better off putting the money in a special savings account to keep for yourself, than wasting it on pet insurance. Save your money as your own insurance !!

So there is really no good reason to get insurance other than the health plan that I have at the vet?. I thought that god for bid something happens and the bill will be horrendous, I will have something to help me out at least. Dogs are like kids they get into all types of messes.

Our vet offers one, but when I read it, it didn't seem worth it to me. For instance if our GSD has hip dysplasia and needs surgery, we still have to pay for it up front- then be reimbursed by the company.

The savings account is a better idea!
