| I always thought the the Beneful dog food ad which stresses all its "healthy" (showing corn on the package) vegetables for your dog is marketed to people who think that because they eat lots of veggies, their dog should too. Never actually looked at the nutrient list, though, so I could be wrong. I know dogs like some veggies (though mine is a "What's THIS? YUUUKKKK!!!" type), but do they NEED fresh veggies as a regular portion of their diet? Or is it a nice low calorie snack and just for fun? I've seen that they are now marketing a cat food with "healthy vegetables" too. |

| I do fruits and veggies too. Carrots, green beans, blueberries. Anything like that Sweet potato is good to use too. Strawberries, bananas. And I have noticed that tomatoes are a favorite too |

| | Alpha | Ever since my old one was diagnosed with cancer, veggies are a big staple in all three dogs diets. They get broccoli, green beans, spinach, cauliflower and carrots. I do cook them because they refuse to eat them raw, but my holistic vet said that is fine. Sometimes there is a little gas issue, but......what can I do - lol. |

| Another way you could try to get them to eat the veggies without out cooking is I put in some flavored yogurt and mix it all really good then if its something they usually won't touch they may eat it since its covered in yummy yogurt, lol |

| I give raw carrots, broccoli, frozen peas or green beans, canned pumpkin, apples, blackberries, and banana in small amounts a couple times a week. It mostly depends on what I'm snacking on. |

| Canned pumpkin & apple slices. I cut up small pieces of apple for him when I am getting ready to go to the barn. We practice "leave it" with the apples. He loves them - not a fan of the carrots thou. Other than that he eats natures variety for breakfast so he gets veggies from those.

I like that I can batch mine, do enough down for a month, and just freeze it.

| No grapes.(or raisins) Grapes are toxic to the kidneys.
Strike wont eat much fruits and veggies aside from the green beans in his diet which is mixed with his food and yogurt.

| Nope, no veggies at all, and only rarely a banana for fruit because they actually like the taste of them - they eat those for pleasure, not for nutrition (same with strawberries, or occasionally apples). I don't believe my dogs need fruits or vegetables for nutrition, I do not believe they were designed to need them or thrive on them, they do not require them, and I do not feed them as any large portion of the diet. They may occasionally get some when they eat people food from my own plate, but they get more grains than they would vegetable matter, and I don't think grains are that appropriate either My dogs are carnivores and don't need them. I am an omnivore and a healthy diet for me should be made up for fresh veggies and fruits, but what is best for me isn't what is best for them. None of my animals have ever willingly eaten ANY fruits or vegetables in any large amounts except for two things - Bowie loved apples and would eat them all the time (LOVED macintosh, can't say I blamed him, as they are my favorite too!) and I had a cat as a child that LOVED peas.
