A bit off-topic, but what did the crying sound like? Akin to a child's? Or more like whimpering? That must have been the most heartwrenching sound. Oh boy...

It was much louder than whimpering. It was more like yelping or howling. He only did it when he moved, poor little guy didn't quite understand that if he didn't put pressure on it, it wouldn't hurt as much. It was awful to listen to, it even brought the emergency vet staff to tears, and a couple men in the waiting room...

The surgeon called me at 5:15 this morning, just like the office staff said he would, so that made me fell better. The surgeon, Dr. B, said that he can't be sure if the bone is broken clean through or just part of the way. He said he agrees that the surgery is the best way to go to insure a healthy future for Apollo. He also said that he will need another surgery to remove the pins in a few weeks. Not what I wanted to hear, but we'll make it through.

At 5:15 the surgeon said they were prepping Apollo for surgery and that he would go in sometime between 6:00 and 7:30. So he is probably already being operated on.

I didn't go back to sleep after the call, so I've just been sitting here with Athena, praying for the pup and for the surgeon, so that he has a smooth surgery.

I am headed in to work soon, I will update again after I hear that he is out of surgery!

Thanks again for everything, DT was a great outlet for my nervous energy last night.
