I am really sorry to hear about that. My thoughts and prayers are with you for a speedy recovery.

Ya know he is just fine where he's at but honestly I would be going out of my mind too worrying about him all alone caged up. He'll be back home getting pampered before ya know it

Thank you all! You guys really do make this a little easier.

I know he is comfortable, he was sleeping when I left, and that was w/o pain meds. I authorized them to do what was necessary to keep him comfortable. I know that they are going to splint his leg tonight so he doesn't do anymore damage to it. And he can find comfortable positions, so I know he's okay.

It's just hard not to worry myself sick. I am welcome to visit him anytime after the surgery, and this place encourages you to make yourself comfortable and hang out - I did the whole consult tonight sitting on the floor in the ICU by his cage - so my plan is to go to work in the morning and leave when he gets out of surgery.

Go get ya some rest and try not to think about anything bad and he'll be back home in no time a-ok. We had a Minpin that got hurt a long time ago. He broke every one of the little bones in his paw. He was back home in a couple days and he had several pins put in all his little toes.

Just to get you through the night I suggest 80% Absolute....20% orange juice. Trust me, works every time

Poor Apollo. Hope that it was a clean break. All the best for a speedy recovery!

Read this a little late, the prescription I gave myself was half a bottle of wine. Seems to be working, I am comfortably numb.

Poor guy. He's young though, so he should recover quickly and be able to be a doberman again

Poor guy. Cleo was hit by a car and it got her front leg. She had the pins and a plate put in. The worst of it was healing the ulcers from the leg wraps. She was given pain patches though and could have cared less for quite a while though.

Give the guy some extra lovins from all us DTers.

That's what I am telling myself. And 100% why I am putting him through surgery and not just casting - this little guy has lots of doberyears full of adventures ahead of him.
