I dont have any good advice...... my puppy has a garbage gut! I do my best to give him good food.....but he is always getting into other animals food. he also gets table scraps....he is however very healthy and has firm poo's 97% of the time.I do notice that after going to our training class he often gets the runs....but we also ride over a hour each way. so I chalk that up to a stressfull day

Im sure you can get it online, and I second the opinion on switching to sensitive skin/stomach. Good luck

I agree with JulieW. If you are going the Pro Plan route, go right to Pro Plan sensitive skin/stomach. The puppy food has excess 'stuff' in it. And if you go cold turkey from one food to another, you can expect some loose stool until the system adapts - maybe a week.

Regarding prescription food - when quincy was younger he had problems with loose stools. We were having fits dialing in the right food/mix for him. The vet put him on Purina canned EN for a while. He did really well on it and liked it. We blended back over to Pro Plan Performance kibble with the EN and phased the EN out. He has been on kibble ever since with no issues.

haha! well.....since 95% of the animals I have owned where rescues they seem to just eat what I give them. when I first brought zeus home I had bought Iams.....although he HATED it!!! I just refused to give him anything else untill it was all gone. we only have a day or two left then he can start his pro plan bag......if he doesnt like that then tuff luck lol! I have never had a animal that had to have special food.....other then senior food for a old horse.but I guess they are out there.....I find we get more runs from stress then from food. could something be stressing your pup? heat? long rides? long time away from you?

Yeah, but everything is available on the internet! Don't know if I'd give that much slippery elm to a pup, but it's out there to be gotten.

Is he on any meds. Im having the same problem. It started with him them she started. My wife looked up the meds online and found out the side effects are loose stool. It sounds right becouse he started the meds right before her becouse of his throwing up then she started cause of the kennel cough. Just a thought.

This is both my husband's and my first puppy...ever! So if there it is stress it is more from, "am I doing this right?". We are together most of if not all of the day. I am pretty fortunate that my summer classes are mostly on line and I leave very rarely...a lot of the time he just comes with. Maybe he is getting too much time with me...ha ha ha. He has a pretty laid back life, I think....but who knows from a puppy's point of view!

No he finished his meds the first time we went to the vet...

I hate reading the side effects on any type of medication...seems like those are worse than just suffering through what the meds are for!
