| | Lil Dog | Ripped out nail! So my girl ripped her nail almost all the way out of her foot! So grose! I'm taking her to the vert in the next hour! She doesn't seem like she is in any pain at all but it's so bad!
Has this happened to anyone else? |

| Alex did that last year. I cleaned it good, kept meds on it, wrapped his foot and kept a sock on him for a few days, plus put him on anti-biotics. You need to watch when it starts growing in that it grows in straight and not into his toe. His was sore a couple days then he was ok. |

| One of my males I owned a long time ago ripped a toenail practically all the way out of his foot. We had to pull the nail and he never grew another one back, just had a toe with no toenail....one less to trim! He was not a show dog, just a sweet pet boy that lived to be 13....ancient for a Dobe. |

| My Male Stormy is constantly ripping or cracking his nails. He is a bush crashing dog always running full bore through the jungles of B.C. I just keep a very close eye on them, trim off any jagged pieces and soak his feet in a salt water solution when necessary. So far we have never had to deal with any infected toes.
one of my doberkids tore her nail of, root and all, it healed up just fine on its own.She now has only three nails on one of her back feet. |

| Happened to me also. My girl Dax ripped one completely out in the winter running and stopping on the frozen ground. Never thought I would get it to stop bleeding, but it did. Just kept it wrapped and clean for a week or so. Never got infected and never grew back. Its an awful experience thought. Lois |

| Happened to Chessie. They were playing in the yard and I never saw the missing nail until the next morning. I knew the paw didnt' look right, but it was early, so I had to count! She never bleed, limped or any other indication it had happened.
