Uti???

(fyi, this forum's search feature is Fo shiz!)

I have a vet appt scheduled for tomorrow but does this sound like a uti..

Last night Cinny got me out of bed 4 times to go out.. I saw her poo so it was curious to me when she got me up 3 more times..

When daylight broke, I noticed she was squatting all over the yard but only producing a few drips of urine each time. When she came in, she wouldn't settle down (not normal for her). Then later in the morning/afternoon she had 2 small accidents in the house.. she has never peed inside so that's when I called the vet.

Two other things that may or may not be noteworthy.. Last week I thought she may be having trouble fully expressing her anal glands but that seems to have resolved itself this week (no more odor or leaking)... and she was limping on & off and when we noticed a swollen "wrist" (maybe from agility), we called the vet who told us to just keep an eye on it.. a few days of R&R and that also seems to have resolved itself.

Do these things all sound unrelated or should I be checking for something other than a uti?

As I said, I have a vet appt tomorrow but would like to hear people's thoughts.

Does sound like she may have a UTI. But, with the other symptoms you have mentioned seems odd that all these are happening around the same time. Might be a good idea to have your Vet run a complete blood panel, as well as the urinalysis. Let us know how Cinny's Vet visit goes.

Sounds like a uti. Isabelle had quite a few. She'd squat and hardly go at all. Sounds a lot like Cinny's symptoms. A round of antibiotics should fix Cinny up. Hope she feels better soon!

sounds like a possible UTI to me too...
Try not to let her pee before going to the vet tomorrow so they can get a sterile sample from her. If she absolutely has to or you can't stop her, try to catch it in a clean tupperware or something and take it along with you. If you catch anything from her earlier in the day before going to the vet, let it come to room temp and then stick it in the fridge until your appt.

Good luck, I hope she feels better soon!

Thanks, Lydia. The appt is at 1:45 but maybe I'll call to see if I could drop it off earlier than that.

She peed again in bed tonight.. which is why I'm here at this time (laundering sheets at 1am is so much fun).

*update*

Cinny did have a uti and she was put on Clavamox. We also had a full blood panel done (awaiting results) along with a Lyme's test (which was negative).

The only reason that I am posting this update is for future searches for uti symptoms (When I tried to search, I got nothing).

Good, I was just going to say that you may want to rule out tick-borne disease as some of them can affect the kidneys (like Lyme) and then I saw your update. Hope she makes a speedy recovery!

I hope Cinny recovers quickly, and that her bloodwork comes back normal.
