Exclamation Alternative Chewing Ideas??

Jager can not have any treats, rawhide, etc etc until his belly is back on track. Anyone have any ideas of something out there he can chew on that will not upset his belly? He has a very sensitive one and the vet suggested nothing such as rawhides but he LOVES to chew! And since he has not chewed on anything he is not supposed to I don't want to leave that door open...ideas??

rubber tug rings
kongs without stuff in them

He almost loses interest if he "can't eat it" type thing....Thank-you so much and I will dig out his nylabone from his "overnight" bag. I was thinking about putting it in the meat when I cook it to get that flavor on it maybe that would help intice him.

Thank-you so much!!!

Do not know but i give Buddy a coconut about once a month. he will carry it around for a while then will drop it on the cement Patio or garage floor until it breaks. Then will lick up the liquid then Patches & Buddy eat the coconut meat inside. Cheap toy so far no one has been sick or had any problems they leave the hard shell alone I pick it up & throw it away.

Sorry about the belly issues, that is really a tough one. Jager sounds like Petey , his chew toys have to be eatable or he isn't interested. When Petey was a puppy I thought is was the rawhides, trachea's, pigs ears, bully sticks etc that were messing up Petey's stomach and causing his loose piles. It turned out it was the kibble, and since switching to raw when he was 20 weeks old he can eat all sorts of treats with no problems. How about bully sticks, most dogs can tolerate them.

I hope some others can pipe in and give you some good ideas.

Carol & Petey!

Coconuts sound like an excellent idea. very good for the digestive tract too. Macaroons {coconut cookies} are suggested for people who suffer from crohn's disease.
Maybe see if he would like to chew on a big raw carrot, my dogs love them.

I'd get the American made Bully sticks. Make sure they are NOT from China.

love the bully sticks.....my zeus eats those.....

but for a treat they cant really eat I buy the big beef soup bones from the butcher. he will sit for hours trying to get off the film of tendon or whatever that outside coating is on a real bone. over all he gets VERY little for his labors.....so I bet your pup would like a big ole fresh bone
