so just clarifying as apparently I am thick headed...it is ok that he eats the pink part of the bone as that is the marrow raw or cooked as it is fine?

I myself give zeus raw bones....it takes him FOREVER to get the marrow out....several days and then some. here is a picture of zeus's newest bone just to give you a good idea of the type of bone I was talking about.

ok, mine were cut exposing the marrow so he was munching on it right away....where did you find that type of bone? I live in no mans land and a butcher is not available...we Sams, Kroger, WalMart...

I bought it at our local grocery store....kind of like a krogers. just ask back where they cut meat
