| Does your horse and Dobie drink the same water? Maybe your water is too chlorinated for them both. Try your Dobe on bottled distilled water and see if it makes a difference. |

| No Belly issues from with the coconut Buddy or Patches they both take turns getting the coconut out, but not promising that for all dogs each dog maybe different? I have looked all over to see if coconuts were bad for dogs but did not find anything?
Not to steal the thread but have been to scared to give marrow bones since Buddy is so much larger than Patches would hate for him to hurt her if she tried for his bone which she would. Any one give bones and have a little dog along with their Doberman?

Right now my horse is boarded in a different location, sad to say. I was trying to poke fun at the high maintenance of their owner...my husband says I am high maintenance so my animals must be too. Actually Jager prefers the water from the tap. I have tried giving him distilled water and he wont drink it.
Thanks though!!! |

Geeze they acted like I was asking for their first born...and in WV no thank you!! | I have seen soup bones in the grocery stores or stores like Whole Foods & Sprouts. I love Sprouts. Don't know if you have those where you are at.
Bully Sticks - some feed stores or Costco. Also I believe you can order them from Amazon.com. Vader loves bully sticks.
Also Vader has these sweet potato chewys - I think they are dehydrated - not sure if those would work. Found them in a feed store. Can't remember who makes them though. They are all natural.
Hope that helps a little, good luck - I hope he feels better. |

| Hi - We always either boiled the big knuckle bones a bit, to get a nice broth out of them for "later" - the dogs like the soup, or baked them in the oven at about 200 or 225 for an hour or so. Just to be sure there wasn't anything funky on/in them. Also, sometimes the supermarket has the big femur (leg) bones, and we have them hack them into 3 or 4 sections. They do like the marrow, and it's good for them - you could scoop it out and freeze it for when he can have it. And our dogs aren't truly fond of raw... they think they're people.
I was tickled by the idea of the coconuts - I have to try that one! Lois |

| I get the big sections of leg bone....and I dont do anything to them.
and I have to mention all the talk on bully sticks. I went out and got zeus 2 new ones.......one is in a stick form and looks much like a large slim jim lol! this is the kind I have bought for him in the past. I also bought a braided one.......and let me tell you!!!! that thing has the most god awfull stink!!!!! my gezzzzzzzzzzz!!!! zeus loves it! but I had to pick it up with a tissue and toss it and him into his crate to chew it.....I thought the stench was going to make me puke! so I am making a note to only buy the long stick kind......it didnt smell at all! so I felt the need to share my learning with the rest of you.I will never buy the braided kind again lol!!!!
