You should be able to purchase the backer rod from any home building supply place. I know they have it at Lowe's.
Should be around the caulking tubes.

Thanks,Linda.....I wish it were that easy....we live in Costa Rica....no Lowe's or Home Depot here unfortunately.....I have looked at the local hardware stores and they don't even have a clue what I am talking about, so I'm not real optimistic!

It doesn't have to be a Lowes or Home Depot, just a home building supply or maybe even a plumbing place. It is used to seal cracks or joints in homes along with the caulk.
Here is one you can order, but I think the price is high. Your dog is older so I went with the 1/2 inch. You might research and find some cheaper. I cann't find the site I had before that was perfect price, etc.
