| | Alpha | What to make of this?? Okay so a while back I post about how bad of a "backyard" breeder the owners were that I recviced Leo from. Well I was searching around and came across their old website and found this posted. Sasha and Blue are Leos parents (FYI) what do you make of this? Anyone? What is the "Z" factor?
Do to the bad rap that "z" factored Doberman's have been getting lately and the fact that my male is Z factored along with some health problems of my own, I will no longer be breeding Dobermans. Blue is available for purchase. His price is $460.00 firm.He is housebroken, though gets bored easily and will chase cats.
********* Blue is believed to be vWd clear. Sasha has not been tested however it is possible she is a carrier. It has been brought to my attention recently that I should present the following facts about Blue Baron's vWd status....1) he has not been tested and 2) both his parents were tested and were clear. Genetic research says that if two clear dogs are bred together then the ensuing litter WILL result in clear pups. Of course there are those vets out there that do insist that 70% of all Dobermans have it or are a carrier despite having tested clear...So what is one to believe?????
Sasha is NOT for sale.

| There are a lot of threads on here about z and VWB- maybe use the search function to find a few good ones. both are purely genetic and VW can only be reliably tested by the VetGen test- not the test that your local vet would do. The dog either has it or not... |

This is the key message. We should be glad they are hanging it up. |

| My boy is Z factored. I was very concerned when I found out and sent an email to the DPCA. She said if he is pigmented (normal color), then I don't need to worry (simplified, not her exact words). Z factored dogs should be fixed so you don't take a chance of having an albino puppy.
If you go to the DPCA web site you can find the list of all Z factored Dobies. Here is a link DPCA Albino Committee - Z List to the list.
Here is a link to the page explaining Albino and at the bottom the talk about the Z list. DPCA - What is an Albino Doberman?
I was told that if I was not planning on breeding Q, just love him and have him fixed and learn my lesson from it. If I can find my reply from them I will copy it to you in a PM if you like. I have to do it tonight when I get home. |

| Yep, I'm glad they did the right thing. I emailed Q's breeder when I found out and she acted like she knew nothing about it, first she heard. I told her she needed to send everyone she sold a puppy to, notification so they could fix their Dobies. I also told her she needed to have Q's mother fixed, she has 2 or 3 white dobies in her blood line, his father has none. His father is a big red handsome doberboy, that looks perfect. Anyway, I keep checking her site to see if she posts another litter of Dobies and so far she has not. She has however posted a picture of Q in her satisfied customer section. I sent her an email one day with a picture of him by the fireplace (she is an animal lover and really seems to enjoy pictures of him), I thanked her for my baby that I love so much. She posted the email and the picture. I just let it go. I really am SOOOOOO glad to have him, I love him so much it is unreal, I just wish she was more professional and did her research. She breeds all kinds of little dogs also. |

| You can see Q's parents here: : Gallery
Chopper is his dad and Chloe is his Mom.
Here is the quote from the lady at the DPCA Quote: |
He's not albino, and the problems these dogs have are unique to the lack of pigmentation, the normally colored dogs who might have albino relatives don't have these problems.
