It could be rose geranium also, I forget and I am too lazy to google it.

| I only use it a couple months out of the year so I think the long term risk is minimal. I don't buy meds that cover a really wide range of parasites/pests (ie. combination flea tick hw) |

| Always heard borax was poisonous--guess it depends on the concentration? I also watch the "it's natural, so it's safe" mindset. Gotta be careful with any foreign substance. |

| i use an otc flea repellant for mine, because kane has an allergic reaction to flea bites/prescription flea stuff.he has no reaction to hartz, but did have one to biospot and advantix. i cant not protect him due to the severe flea bite allergy.but ive had 'reactions' to the prescription stuff.hartz works, without reacting.
he just gets for a dog 40lb up to 60lbs, not the 60 + lbs size. then i give brewers yeast and garlic to compensate. it works.

| I now use rose geranium oil on W's collar. Two drops on the collar every week, no more. Helps a lot with ticks, and we have a ton of those in MO. I counted 3 species on W last week, and that's WITH the frontline. <chuckle> Worth a go. Don't let your cats anywhere near the stuff though, they're very susceptible to liver issues.

| I use Rose Geranium Oil on the collars too - happy to report NO fleas or ticks so far for the summer - usually by mid June I find at least *one* tick... but I've found none.
'Sides, it makes the dogs smell all flowery

| you can use rose geranium, peppermint, lavender, cinnamon, bergmont, clove and citronella mix on dogs ONLY. its used on the collar, not the dog.
citronella is toxic to cats.so dont use citronella in the mixture,it if you have cats.pennyroyal and lavender flowers in a tea,is a good coat rinse for dogs also.it repells and kills fleas. pregnacy warning on the pennyroyal.
fleas in the carpet can be killed by putting borax in water and renting a cartpet scrubber. apply a light borax soulution, then run a scrubber. you'll have clean carpet and rid of ''uggy buggs''.
avon skin so soft will repell skeeters, dog lice and flies, but not sure as a flea detterrant.
brewers yeast, garlic tabs, will work internally.

| I hope it isn't true. I use Frontline Plus, it is the only one safe for pregnant bitches for one thing. I use Microtek Marigold Spray as a fly/misquito repellant, totally natural and works. |

Opinion & Information on Boric Acid | Diatomaceus earth is good for outside, borax is safe for inside (i drank borax diluted in water for a month - homeopathic remedy).
It is poisonous like salt.
Btw borax is mineral, sodium borate, not boric acid. |
