| | Alpha | Ug...loose to nothing! I'm sorry to have to do this yet again....so Jager had loose stools...I mean loose. I had posted under "very concerned now..." (thanks again to those who answered!!) He has been eating rice, hamburger, and bananas as well as being on a 7 day dose of antibiotics. He went poop this morning...solid! Kept him on the bland diet...he has not pooped since 7 this morning. He is still eating, drinking (not as much but drinking), still playing and sunbathing, peeing but no poop! He isn't the kind to come back in to do it...he just doesnt have to go. Is this common when coming back from loose stools? |

| Maybe he went so much, he doesn't have anything there right now to poop out. At least he went this morning. I'm sure someone else can help you more than me, sorry. Just watch him, and maybe he'll go tomorrow. If he doesn't you may want to call the doc. I'm sure he's fine though. Keep us posted. |

| Lexx is fed raw and often only poops once a day, i wouldn't be terribly concerned yet, just continue the antibiotics, the special diet and make sure he has lots of water!

My husband and I are seriously considering a raw diet once Jager has fully recovered. He did poop this morning, solid!
Thanks!!! |

| seriously I would add a little canned pumpkin to his food for a few days, it works like bran does for us, helps keep them regular.

| Yes, the kind used for pie, but be careful. There are two different kinds of canned pumpkin, one is JUST pureed pumpkin and one is premixed pumpkin with sugar and spices. Get the plain, pureed pumpkin. Dogs and cats both love it, and in the summer you can freeze in in ice cube trays for a fun, cool treat and it's great for them. |

| I have noticed it in my dogs before. After they had soft stools everything went through them quickly and their system was emptied and they didn't have to go for a while. |

| So just give the pumpkin for a few days, not as a regular part of thier diet - is that rite? |
