| | Alpha | Very concerned now... OK, asked people if heat would cause my puppy (16 weeks) to have runny stools... they said yes keep an eye on him. Well this morning it was better and I limited his time outside to 10 minutes max and he did it twice. He still has runny stools. I have not changed his food. He is eating, drinking, playing, etc, etc.
Vet time??? Normal for heat? Ug, I hate not knowing...first puppy! Appreciate any help! Of course it is Sunday! ug!!!! |

| It's good that he is drinking, eating and playing. I would take his temp. And watch him very close today. Any sign of not feeling well then I'd get him right in. You might try giving him a small amount of canned pumpkin every few hours. If it's still going on in the am then I'd take him in.

| | Alpha | Thank-you to those who responded to my concern. I fed Jager the old stand by rice and even though it took him 12 hours to poo again...it was solid. Keeping an eye on him today. Thanks again for your kindness. |

| | Alpha | He weighs 34 pounds and is 4 months. I feed him 3 3/4 cups a day of Eukeneba puppy food for large breed (spelling is way off there). |

| | Alpha | the vet said could be the food and I am feeding him rice and boiled hamburger for dinner tonight. I gave him some rice this afternoon as well. They said once putting him back on puppy food if it returns it is the food and to switch...they suggested Science Diet for sensitive tummys...thoughts?? |

| two common causes we have found - food and stress. Food can be either having recently switched foods or the qty (too much at once). Stress can trigger bad bacteria growth in gut. |

| | Alpha | I have been racking my brain trying to think of what could have stressed him out...we went to a ballgame and he seemed to have a blast. Saturday we slept in and enjoyed the sun a bit...and then runny poo. I did get a new bag of Eukenaba (same kind he has been eating since he could eat puppy food) so it could be just a bad bag...eh boiled hamburger and rice for two days and then will try again...thank-you for your thoughts! |
