| Sounds and looks like Scabies {Sarcoptic mange mites}Symptoms, red bumps, scaly lesions with hair loss, and are extremely itchy. As this mite can temporarily infest people, do you or any memebers of your family have any red itchy bumps too?
Ivermectin by injection is an effective treatment. |

| | Big Dog | No, no one in the family have been itchy or have any red bumps. Our other dog does not have any signs of it either. |

| I'd take her to the vet for sure and rule mange in or out. It might be allergies too.

| What kind of surface do you have in your yard? How old is she? Does she have any other spots on her like this?
Looks most like an allergy with secondary infection, but could be contact irritation, mites(scabies or demodex) or just a bacterial pododermatitis (infection of the skin on the feet). Time to see your vet!

| | Big Dog | The yard is grass and wood chips. She does not have any other spots like that on her body. She just turned 1 in March. I have the mange medicine her and was going to give it to her. The vet gives a some some they don't have to keep charging us office visits since she has had it 4 times now. I was going to start giving it to her but it hasn't spread like mange or look like it has in the past. |

| Those might be irritating her, especially if they are cedar.

| | Alpha | It could also be fungal, a scraping is the only way to sort it out. You likely have a secondary infection just from the repeated licking. |

| Please keep us posted. My collie used to get itchy bumps if he went in the grass to long. |
