Cool dremmel tool

Well its been a month or two when I asked about this and some of you said that you where ordering so now tell me how its working and is it worth the money. I am talking about the peticure tool that I saw on the TV. For those of you don't know go to the web Peticure dog grooming supplies, dog nail clippers, dog nail care, peticure pamper your pet and check it out. Please let me know what you think.

I really don't know how well the dog pedicure would hold up over time. I just use a regular dremel tool with a sandpaper roller. Yes they are more expensive but are a useful tool around the house for other things than just dog nails. I've had mine since 1995 and its still working great.

Has Zeus ever had a dremmel used on his nails? He might take some getting used to.

Good luck, Tracy

I also use a regular dremel and have found quite a few jobs around the house that this tool has come in handy to have, not just for the nails.

Can you post a picture of your dremel tool. Maybe others could post picture of theirs also. I have thought about getting one but have never really seen one.

Thanks, SRC

I also use the dremmel. My breeder used it on the dogs since they were puppies so I 'borrowed' my fathers and Rainah is pretty much used to it now. I do it once a week, takes 15 minutes and it keeps her nails nice and short and neat.

I just have a standard Craftsman dremmel tool and I absolutely love it. There is nothing fancy or special about it but it works wonders. This is something all dog owners should have.

Nail clippers are very painful and with the dremmel you just need to do small sections at a time so that it doesn't get too hot. I like to do one paw at a time, briefly grinding one nail and moving to the next and then back again. That way one nail never gets too hot.

The dremmel completely eliminates the clickety-clacking of nails on hardwood floors!

How can you tell how much to grind (or clip). Right now I clip my dog's nails and I find I either do it too far (did that a couple times and he obviously bled a little and didn't like it one bit!) or I clip it too little and I feel like I can do more, but I don't want to risk it. I know you can see/tell where the inner fleshy/nerve comes out into the nail, but sometimes it's not to easy to tell where that nerve is, especially on the outermost toes for some reason.

I have a dremmel, and I would like to try to use that.

The texture of the nail changes as you get closer to the quick..instead of being dry and brittle it starts getting spongy.

Also, the quick tends to be near where the nail starts to curve.

and to add - if you are dremmeling in good light, and doing it slowly, you will see the quick as a dot before you actually hit it.
