Good Vet Visit

I took Rusty and Cocoa for a check up today.
Rusty's heart murmur is totally gone, yay! He still only has one dropped testicle, but I knew that.
He is so nervous going into the vet exam room. He will lay so still and quiet on the table. I asked the vet if it's normal for him to be so nervous for 6 months. I was happy when he said he didn't see him nervous at all, only cautious which is normal for the breed. He pointed out that dobermans don't do well with physical punishment and that could turn them nervous. Whereas he said I could do anything to the lab and he'd be smiling the next moment, our lab is such a big and friendly goof.
He said he rarely sees dobermans anymore though.
So both dogs are happy and healthy.

I'm curious about what your vet said about only one dropped testicle, our pup is 15 weeks now & he also only has one that has dropped.

At the last visit the vet said that he would have to be neutered so it didn't become cancerous. The neuter would also have to be done through the stomach like a spay. We are going to wait 12-18 months before neutering our boy though.

Glad to hear the murmur went away. That is indeed good news. Neutering will take care of the other problem.

Red was monorchid too (only one testicle descended). During his neuter, we found the other one lurking underneath his bladder. There is increased recovery time with this surgery as opposed to a routine neuter, so make sure you get appropriate pain meds!

Good to hear about the good vet visit
