| | Big Dog | sorry i cant be of much help, but i accidentally hit my parents JRT in the eye while working on the deck. she loves to get right up close to whatever anyone is doing, and she got under a piece of lattice i was pulling off and it flipped back and hit her in the eye pretty damn hard. her eye was swollen and looked very scary to me, i was really worried i had blinded her in that eye! my parents decided to wait overnight to see, and she was fine within a day.
as long as you dont see blood or any visible damage to the eye its probably okay and a natural that she wants to keep it closed to let it heal. hope everything turns out ok!! |

| I dont know what to tell you other than try to relax. It sounds like a surface scratch and it may take some time to heal but probably not serious. Get your sleep if you can and let us know what happens at the vet.

| I've had a few eye scratches and they really are painful.
My cat has also scratched Roxie's eye a while back.
You can wash with warm water until you get to the vet.
He will probably give you anitbiotic eye drops which had a slight pain killer in them.
She should be fine in a week or so.

| | Alpha | we just came back from the vet, thank god everything turned good,
the vet said it was just on the eye and not on the retina or anyother part, he gave a pain relief injection and some eye drops,
she is doing fine now,
thanks for all the replies

| Glad everything is OK with your girl saesms. I scratched my eye once and I had the same symptoms as your girl. A few days applying medicated eye drops and my eye healed up just fine. |

lol...the worst eye scratch of my life was inflicted upon me by Sebastian himself. He paw-swatted me, standing next to my bed, telling to get me to get up. Omg it hurt sooooo bad and took quite a while to heal. |

| I'm glad to hear your girl is OK.
Roxie pawed me twice in my eye.
The first time I went to the Doctor and the second I self medicated.
I think she was trying to get her paws in my mouth.
What is silly girl.
