| Head tremor videos After reading this thread, I've been wondering if Boris's are the same thing or not.
I've been trying for months to catch it on video when he does it, but it always stops before I get the camera out.
I finally caught him last night (after he was stressed from a car ride), so I thought I'd post them to see if this is what everyone else's are like when they have them.
It was very timely to get the videos since Boris has an appointment tomorrow to have it checked out and the vet already has the videos in his hands.
In this one, it's toward the end of the video when it really starts showing it.
And this one is shorter, but still shows it pretty well.
I normally wouldn't be quite as concerned with just the head thing since it seems to be pretty common with quite a few Dobe's, but last week he had a dizzy spell when my Hubby took him out for a walk. I guess he just started sort of walking sideways and his hind legs went over the edge of the driveway and he fell down. I guess he got up right away, but looked a little disoriented for a few more seconds, then was perfectly normal after that. That was the only time it's ever happened, and was brief, but that's when I decided it was time to get him in and have some testing done. They have a new doc from the U. of Mn who is apparently very good, so keep your fingers crossed for us.

| It looks pretty similar to what I have seen, but the part about the hind legs during the walk does not (in my mind at least) tie into the head tremors unless it is something different.
I'm glad you got it on tape and good luck with the vet appt.

| Sorry you and Boris are going through this. I know that I would be concerned and want to know what was going on with him. He looked as if he knew something was happening to him in the video. Glad you are checking with a vet. Please keep us posted. I am interested in what the vet says and how B is doing.

| this might sound strange . but i am deadly serious.
my son who is 14 has had head tremors just like your dobe form the age of 7..
after many many many doctors oppointments he has been diagnosed with touretts.
a condition that makes a person twitch with out controll... also later verbal things may happen.
its weird be he looks just like your dobe... twitching and not being able to control it.
i wonder if there is a condition similar to touretts in the animal world ??

| The head tremor looks very similar to what my girl did occasionally for years. Never seemed to really bother her, and she died at 10 from DCM. There was a thread about this a while ago, with lots of advice, but I wouldn't try any supplements until you get your vet check--they might mask symptoms. I used to move a treat back over her head to make her look up, and the tremor would disappear immediately.
Good luck with your diagnosing. |
