| Cheers was spayed this a.m....waking up okay! Whew!! I ran Cheers in first thing this a.m. to be spayed; the vet called an hour later to say they had done her first thing and she was doing fine. Yeah! Now she just has to wake up and they'll monitor her all day. I can pick her up at 4 p.m.
The clinic did that quick clotting test on her first thing while I was still there and she tested fine. However, since she is vwd affected, they had ordered cryo for her and started an IV drip with it prior to the spay. Apparently there was very minimal bleeding at all. I guess she will have excellent clotting factors for the next few days anyway with the extra cryo in her system.
Now to keep her quiet and calm for the next 10 days....that will not be easy at all! |

| Wonderful news that everything went okay! I had my Arthur neutered recently and you always worry until notified that they woke up. |

| Glad to hear. As you know my Bella was spayed Monday and it was a nerve wrecker. She has been pretty much out of commision since and the vet said anethesia is harder on some dogs than others. |

| I know...I was kind of nervous until they called.
I was actually hand grazing my horse when the cell phone rang, so I was juggling phone and leadrope and hungry horse. When there is a ton of grass, my horse does not go too far since her head is glued to the lawn!! |

| Glad everything went OK. Kylee goes in next Thursday. The vet is letting me stay with her when they put her under and come back when the surgery is done so I can sit with her when she wakes. I would love to watch the surgery, she is being done laparascopically and I think it would be very interesting, but I won't push it.
Again, glad is is doing fine.

| Glad that Cheers is okay and everything went well. When Rommel was going under and coming up my vet (who I know very well) also let me go in with him. It is almost sad to watch them wake up though.
I bet she will get lots of pampering over the next few days

| Glad to hear the spay went well. Good luck in keeping her down for any length of time. I managed 24 hrs with Sydney before she just wanted to go play with her brother. She was good though and I made her rest every half hr or so, even had to crate her several times each day for a week to keep her semi-down. SHe never licked her stitches and was eating the next morning. The time will pass quickly. Syd was done 2 1/2mo ago and she is listening far better to commands. I don't know if it was the spay or just her maturing. Keep us posted on Cheers and how she is doing in the next week.
