| Did you do a forum search on Blue? There are a few people on here that feed it.
Also, Greenies are dental chews/treats. Personally I don't give them to my dogs due to the choking hazard of them biting off small pieces and their past reputation although I think they have since changed their formula to break down faster.
I prefer large bones and bully sticks. |

| I used Blue Buffalo for a while, but it is expensive, so I switched, as my two gluttons were going through a large bag every two weeks.
They liked it and did very well on it.

| I have never personally fed Blue Buffalo. But when I was doing research on 'natural' pet food companies, I called them and inquired about some of my primary concerns. When I got to the topic of feeding trials, the response I got was "Oh, we don't do feeding trials because we don't believe in animal testing." My mental response was to think 'great - so the pets eating the food are the test subjects.' So purely based on the fact that they don't do feeding trials, I won't use it or ever recommend it by name to a future client.

| When we first adopted my daughters Chihuahua we fed him Blue Buffalo and he did very good on it. He now eats Chicken soup. I do rotate dog food every 4 months or so to give my dogs variety. I stopped buying it because the only place I could get it was Petsmart. Im not a big fan of petstores that sell pets.... |

| I used to feed Blue, and my dogs did great on it. But based on the information Berkshire just gave us, I wouldn't feed it again! Mine are on Wellness Core right now and doing great. They have never gobbled up a kibble like they do this one.

| UGH..I never knew food shopping could be so complicated....I have decided that the puppy shouldn't be on Blue because of the high protein. So far have narrowed the brands down to Eagle Pack, Pinnacle, and Avoderm. I would like to get Canidae, but I cannot find anywhere around here that carries it. Im going to check out pet food direct and see if it might be worth it to get it online, maybe some good deals would make it worth my while. Again thoughts or opinions on the above mentioned brands would be appreciated. I did do an extensive search on all of these products and then cross referenced with prices and availability. I have a Petco about 40 minutes from me. The rest of the pet places around here are privately owned, and in turn are quite pricey.

| Be careful with the Canidae ALS. Some dogs do great...some don't. I believe it can be a problem with the multi proteins.
Also, some dogs can handle the flax seed oil, some can't.
I fed blue for a while and he did OK on it. I know have him on evo and he is doing great. Sometimes it can be a struggle to find the right food for your dog.

| Mine do great on Canidae ALS. My red girl's hair was thinning a bit a few months ago, and she got pretty flakey skin, and I thought it may have been from the Canidae, but it turns out her thyroid levels were low. Now that her thyroid is normal, her hair and skin are improving A LOT. I don't have personal experience with the other brands you mentioned. There are some people on this forum who feed Canidae with great results, and I am one of them. I would recommend to anyone to at least trying it. If it works for your dog great, if not you could try something else. Food is a trial and error thing. Avoderm and Pinnacle look a bit grain heavy, and have some fillers. There are also people on here whose dog's do great on what some consider the not so premium foods, such as ProPlan and Science Diet. I have seen dog's who look excellent on ProPlan, so to each their own. Good luck, and remember what works for on may not for another. |

| I used to feed Canidae and Arthur did well on it, but have switched to Orijen. I just can't see doing the raw thing, although it seems to be very popular. I have always used premium kibble and my dogs have great coats, small stools..and the bullies for their teeth. They love them. |
