| A friend putting her 12 yr old Dobie down tomorrow A good friend of mine has a 12 year old female Doberman. Puss and blood started coming out of her vagina Friday. The Vet said that she needed to go to a neighboring state and have surgery. He said that she is so old and frail that she may not live through the surgery and if she did, it would be a painful recovery. He said that if she recovered, they will be lucky if it gets her another 6 months. He put her on antibiotics in the meantime. I called them today and she said they are putting her down tomorrow. They said she is on pain meds all the time for arthritis and still barely gets around and that she is almost blind from cateracts. They don't want to torture her because of their selfish need to keep her around. They are spending today with her and tomorrow they are helping her pass over. The Dobie's name is Lucy. She is very sweet and good natured. They told me she has always been a very good dog that they never had any problems with her in anyway. Please say prayers or send good thoughts to them. It is going to be very hard on all concerned.
Thanks. |

| | Big Dog | I am so sorry to hear this. I think that, that is possibly the hardest choice we ever have to make for our dogs. My thoughts go out to your friend and her family

| I am so very sorry to hear this. It is honestly one of the hardest things I ever had to go through but it's the right thing and something that just has to be done to eliminate suffering. My thoughts and prayers are with Lucy and her family. |

| I am so sorry your friends are going through this. I hope they realize they are doing the right thing in letting Lucy go. She had a long happy life. They are being very unselfish doing what is best for her, and the hardest for them.
My thoughts and prayers are with them.
May Lucy go peacefully into the light, and join her pack on the other side..... |
