| Out of those choices I'd chose #8 and the brush side of one of the two sided brushes in either 5/7. No combs, slickers, or rakes really serve any purpose with a doberman's short coat |

I can't say I've tried any of the ones you listed but the Kong Zoom Groom gets off a ton of hair! It really works well. Since Dobes have such short, close-lying coats, I don't know how well any of those brushes you listed would work. Some looks like they would be more effective on longer coated breeds. |

| I don't use any of those for my dogs, I own some of them but for grooming the goldens and havanese I show, for dobes I prefer to use a grooming stone, it was recommended to me by a bouvier breeder and now I recommend to all my puppy people.

| I use a real soft small horse brush as well as a rubber one like Burns uses. Any feed store or tack shop will have them.

| Definitely not #1 or 2, those are what I use on my Husky. Of the ones you listed, I would use #8 on a short coated dog such as a Dobe.
Of course I'm also partial to the Zoom Groom that Burns posted. I use that one when I'm bathing Poseidon; it works really well to get the shampoo worked all the way down to the skin.

| I second Burns' brush suggestion - after grooming for about five years, I've found there's nothing better on short single coats than rubber brushes (with longer times)
