The 3rd tap came up neg and she insisted he do it again with her in the room because it was so very obvious. He hit fluid, enough to shoot across the room from the pressure.

She lost her entire cattery, her loved pets years of work and thousands of dollars. That was 12 yrs ago, seems the FIP vaccine has not improved since.

I also have a hard time believing that they develop an immunity to feline lukemia unless it is possibly from mild non-deliberate exposure. For example I have been told if you booster one dog for kc with the nasal, then that dog sheds enough of it to allow the other household dogs to react (build immunity) as if they had been boostered themselves.
From what i hadr ead about FIP and what my vet friends had told me. Is that they do not reccomend vaccinating against it because there was some controversy that the vaccine was actually causing that disease. One of my cats tested positive for FIP and the current vet we had suggested we euthanize..I wasnt up for that. She has since had no clinical signs of the disease and neither have the other cats. I spoke with another vet about what she would reccomend as far as a cat testing positive, she said she would not reccomend Euthanasia as a resolution as the only 100% way to tell if it is FIP is to do a test from the brain tissue... so my cats is still alive and healthy, also a cat that tests positive may have tested positive because of exposure to the disease.
