| Ticks Hi,
I am using Frontline Plus and I found baby ticks attached to my dog, does that mean Frontline Plus is not working or what? I pulled them off with a twesers and burned them with a torch.

| | Alpha | Frontine causes the fleas and ticks to become more active before they die. None of the tick preventatives work instantly - ticks are much more resistant than fleas or other bugs.
When was the frontline last applied? Has he been bathed recently? If he close to the limit weightwise, you may need to use the next size up. |

| Scoob, I have no clue if this means anything but up until the most recent batch of Frontline that I bought, it has always worked wonderfully. This time around, I am still finding fleas on him after the second month. I have heard of "expired" product, but I already threw the carton out and dont see an expiration date on the applicators.

| Ticks He is sleeping in his indoor house now, not my bed, because I don't want ticks in my bed. He just had a dose of Frontline Plus. I don't know if that med allows them to attach and die or what??

| I am sorry you guys have to deal with ticks. We are lucky here on the Coast, ticks are not a big problem.
There is a bird called the Cow bird, they eat ticks by the hundreds. You guys need a pet Cow bird to follow your dog around. An all natural tick killer. SOrry, it was just a thought. lol. |

Also, if you are having issues with a particular "batch" frontline, I would contact Merial. They do not, however guarantee products bought from online pharmacies as they do not sell directly to those places. |

| | Alpha | I've used advantage and advantix. Neither have an expiration date and the bayer site shows in the advantage faq that the product is stable and does not expire. They have less about advantix but when I first started using it I did ask and they said it had no expiration date. I have emailed them again to make sure the info is current.
Fleas and ticks are not an issue here but when I worked my shepherd in her job as a service dog you never knew what may hitch a ride on her coat. Advantix is supposed to repel mosquitoes so I swapped to it. She was outside with me a lot at 'tween times' when mosquitoes are at their worst.
I have not used any of it on my boy as yet.
Do not use advantix if there are cats in the household. |

| Ticks I just started using Adams Flea and Tick spray also. It seems to be working so far. I saw a post where someone uses that + FrontLine Plus. This time in May is heavy tick season here in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and I have some woods around here. Does the tick spray hurt the dog? Rudy will sleep in his house at night, indoors of course, untill tick season passes, he does not mind that at all. We spend a lot of time during the day together.
