Cooper is now 11 months old. We wanted to wait till he was at least a year beore we had him "done". What kind of behavioural changes can we expect from him after the surgery? The last male dog we had was a Shepherd, and we had him neutered at six months. he grew up to be a gangly unpreportioned dog, but he settled down a bit, and was not as protective or cranky (positive changes), but he did put on a bit of weight, and wasnt as playful.

Lucky was neutered a few months ago and he was calm for 2 weeks right after the sx. But now he is back to normal. He is still bark appy and runs around and wants to play. I dont think neutering calms this breed imo.

Our last Dobe, Jake, was neutered at 8 months and it did stop him from wanting to 'mark' his territory with a little burst of wee.... Our current Dobe, Zak, is also going to be done in the next few months. He is a rescue 14 month old. I am hoping for the same results....

We had Red neutered at 11 months and the only thing that changed was he wasn't so eager to molest females' rear ends. Other than that, he's the same rowdy goofball he's always been.

Sebastian was "done" a couple of months ago and I honestly can say that I haven't seen a remarkable difference in him. He has calmed down a little, not so crazy. Maybe 2 months is too soon to see a significant difference. Sebs is still continuing to grow, so that hasn't stopped his growth.
