Want ears cropped is this possible?

Hi ,I have a new member to my family.... A beautiful almost 7 month old Dobe. I called him Jade. I absolutely love his temperment, stance his whole appearance.....only thing I really wish I could have a medium crop on his ears. There is only one vet in the Okanagan Valley...BC Canada that will do it and she was booked solid when he was 14 weeks old. I then decided not to buy him. But after a few months went by the breeder dropped the price from 1000.00 to 750.00. I looked at the picture and decided to buy Jade anyway. I am really happy with him.... I am just used to the ears being cropped. Does anyone know who could still do it? Both of my boys parents apparently won lots of awards in shows but I don't know the names and can't even find my breeders number now....I have owned Dobe's in the past and know he is purebred...but wish I could get hold of breeder. Kelowna BC He is a German fellow. Is there hope for the ears to be cropped at almost 7 months? Anyone in BC that can do it?

7 months is too late to get ears cropped. Normally ears are cropped somewhere around 8 weeks, and occassionally as late as 12-14 weeks. You need to do it before the ear leather hardens as they mature so you can train the ears to stand as they stiffen up. At 7 months the ears aren't "mold-able" enough anymore to get them to stand.

I agree w/ Julie. I would never recommend attempting to crop a dog this old.
