That is really horrible! I am guessing the pups ears were taped when you got him, how long were they up before you untaped and checked them?

Baron went back to the vet for another check up yesterday. His ears are the texture of boot leather and will have to be removed. So much for the short military cut! They have to be removed starting where the ear meets the head in the front and circling around the back so that the only part that is left is the bell.

He goes in tomorrow. My poor baby!!! My 3 y/o son even cried when he saw him for the 1st time yesterday since this ordeal began. He's been with his daddy. This is HIS puppy.

Eisenstein Law Office :: Animal Law - just in case anyone of you have to deal with something like this in the future.

Why would a vet tape up ears to where they couldn't breath after cropping!!!!
This makes me really angry!! I hope you are letting what ever vet did this to the puppy know about it!!
These vets that wrap them up like a mummy are nuts!! I've seen some messy weepy ears that I've gotten people to unwrap but never to the point the ears were lost. The poor baby.

I've never heard of anthing this bad. I hope you have some recourse against the vets. That is a total malpractice. I know most vets don't know how to tape a good set of ears, but that is awful.

I am so sorry about your boy. It is so terrible for him to have to go thu what he is going thru at any age, but he is just a baby.

What gets me is that "common sense" should tell someone that you don't close off wounds like that from oxygen. The fact that vets do this just defies logic to me. I just don't get it.

Refer to the link in my last post. She believes without a doubt that I have a solid malpractice case against vet #2 since I told them to check the ears and they didn't. There is NO WAY that ears go from 100% healthy to 'we may need to amputate' within 48 hours.

I'm confused. You have a picture of your Baron the day of the ear crop and the ears are open to the air. Which vet wrapped his ears? I'm so sorry this happened - I have just never heard of this before.
