| X-Ray!
Hmm, they think 5-6. She was full of poop too, LOL! We don't let her go hungry.
She was 72 pounds and now weighs 86.5!! She is not fat though...no rolls, just babies and amniotic fluid

I hope you get the perfect nubmer, whatever that is, and that they are GIRLS!

| Cool ...one of my own things I used to monitor was how much weight was gained and divide by 2 and that is how many I guessed. Sounds silly but it has proven to be very accurate except my one litter of 13 in which there were 2 very tiny pups less than half normal size.
I know not scientific and I always xrayed as well but it was more accurate in my experiences than the xrays. Just a fun little thing I used to do when guessing how many would be expected.
So by that formula u might have 7
ps..the litter of 13..the vet counted 11 on the xray and by weight I guessed 12. When she had the 2 little ones they were only just over 5 oz each but they both survived.

| Thanks all It IS hard to see with all of that poop in there. I wanted to take her out and let her potty and re-do but the clinic wasn't interested in my thoughts.
I know I am making a HUGE deal out of one litter, but it's my first. This is totally my dream!!

Just an aside, am not very happy with my supposed "top notch" repro clinic. They tried to give way too many drugs, pull progesterone constantaly, did a mycoplasma culture, and twice tried to schedule a C-section just for the hell of it.
They pulled progesterone today. I was like "whatever". It came back at 4.4 which they said was "perfect" for where she is in her pregnancy.

Sometimes I feel like vets know nothing(no offense anyone)! I use to always do ultrasounds to confirm pregnancy and almost every time get told there were no pups. I'd encourage the vets to look further into the belly but no. I have to use a different vet not my regular or implant guy to get a ultrasound. Big fancy clinic with a load of vets and seems like no one knows anything. Every time they tell me my dog's pelvis is narrow and likely needs a csection. After having a recent csection myself, I don't know why anyone would voluntarily want to do one to their dog or self! Can't imagine multiple pups climbing all over the incision.
Good luck again! Looks like you'll get a nice size litter. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App

I do have my local vet but I am going to ride it out with the Ft. Lauderdale clinic for now.
After doing some reading about x-rays it seems as if they should have done a ventral view as well. /rolls eyes. They could have gotten at least another radiograph fee out of me LOL!
